Nurture learning, creativity, and community through the visual arts

Since its founding in 2012, the Art School of Columbia County has been housed in an historic schoolhouse building and is located on a bucolic landscape, with studio spaces and a gallery inside. Our mission is guided by supporting artistic expression for youth, teens and adults while serving people from diverse, socio-economic backgrounds. Through our work in education and the visual arts, we do not discriminate on any level with regard to people’s abilities to participate. Our work welcomes you here and also brings us locally and regionally, wherever you are….. we look forward to seeing you.

Classes

We offer year-round art programming for youth, teens and adults with a wide range of art classes and workshops, from several weeks to weekend long. We hope you’ll discover a variety of options to fulfill your interests and creative pursuits.

Invitational Abstract Landscapes through the Seasons: with Tim Ebneth

Tim Ebneth says, “I’m thrilled to announce a long-awaited exhibition featuring a remarkable collection of abstract landscapes, created by my talented students from the Art School of Columbia County. Over the past eight years, I’ve had the privilege of guiding both novices and seasoned artists in their creative journeys. This exhibition showcases a diverse selection of works, many of which were painted en plein air on the ASCC property, capturing the beauty and essence of each season, regardless of the weather. Each piece reflects not only the individual artists’ perspective, but also the shared experiences and inspirations we have cultivated together. Join us as we celebrate the artistry, dedication, and vibrant interpretations of our ever-changing landscape. I’m proud to share this journey with you and hope you find inspiration in the colors and forms that emerge from nature’s canvas”.

Participating artists in this exhibit include: Kim Bach, David Conyers, Cathy Farrell, Amy Erickson, Hannah Hickey Humpf, Linda McNutt, Beth Meer, Debby Nolan, Allison Parke, Laurie Sussman, Sarah Sterling & Jean Stoler with teaching artist: Tim Ebneth

Please Join Us on Saturday, November 9 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. for the Opening Reception and Artists Talk.                            This is a free event hosted by ASCC. All are welcome.
